Congratulations to Kielan, Luke, Anna and Noah who have been short-listed in the top 30 STEPS Young Engineering projects nationally for their project ‘Sponge Pencil and Pen’. This is a huge achievement! It is a national competition and the projects are judged by a panel of senior engineers from leading engineering firms like Intel, ESB and Bristol-Myers.
Kielan, Luke, Anna, Noah and their class will tune to the Award Ceremony on YouTube on Wednesday.
Well done to Heidi on her acrostic poem for Earth Day
Earth day is amazing,
And it’s celebrated every year
Reduce, reuse, recycle
To keep the planet clear.
Help us through this journey by
Donating to all good charities,
All the animals deserve to be cared for,
Yes, these are our priorities.
On Tuesday the 20th of April 5th and 6th did a litter pick for Earth Day around the school. Earth day is an event in April where we raise awareness for the climate. We split into groups of two with one litter picker per group. We started with the car park and then moved onto the yard and the astro then we finished of with the garden area. Mr Ruane then joined in and gave us a hand. Most of the rubbish we found was small but we found large pieces of plastic and some plastic bottles. In total we collected half a bin bag of rubbish. We plan to do another litter pick around Kilmurry village next week.
