The pupils in Junior and Senior Infants have planted seeds.
The pupils of Third and Fourth Class, accompanied by their teacher Ms. Garry visited Seedsavers today. The pupils tasted various types of apples, made apple juice and saved some seeds.
In order to celebrate the raising of the Green School Biodiversity Flag and the Active School flag Ms. Donnelly invited William, a member of the Banner Beekeeper’s Club to visit our school.
To celebrate the Kilmurry Green Schools Diversity award, all classes assembles in our Sow ‘n Grow garden. The members of the Green School Committee raised the green flag and the members of the Active School Committee raised the Active School flag. Carmel from the Kilmurry Tidy Towns Committee addressed the pupils and thanked them for their work to date. The pupils were also encouraged to continue to care for these flowers.
William, a member of the Banner Beekeepers Association, visited our school and shared his love of the bees with the pupils.

Kilmurry N.S. has been awarded two flags this year – a green school flag for achievements in the area of bio diversity and for the very first time an active school flag.
Congratulations to Ms. Donnelly and Ms. Garry who co-ordinated the work.
Well done to the members of both the Green School Committee and the Active School Committee.
Our Green School Committee members have been very busy.
Members of our Green School Committee, under the guidance of Ms. Donnelly, donned their painting clothes clothes yesterday and painted the paving stones which lead to the Bug Hotel.
