Newsletter No. 5 – January 31st, 2018
A big thank you to the Astro-Turf Committee for all their work to date. They have held a number of very successful fundraising events and, as usual, the community in Kilmurry have given us huge support. An Astro-Turf will give our children a safe and spacious area to play during their break times, to do after school activities and for special events like our Fun For All Day.
Astro Turf Committee: Alan O’Callaghan, Olga O’Grady, Deirdre Gilligan, Brian O’Connell, Fran Minihan, Deirdre Gleeson, Rachel Tuohy, Maria Mullins, Dave Flynn, Triona Heffernan and Aileen O’Mara.
All support welcome!

School Opening Times
Classes commence at 8.50a.m. each day. The yard/school will be supervised from 8.30 a.m. until the bell rings. No formal responsibility can be accepted for pupils arriving before that time. As staff may be involved in organisation and preparation for the day ahead, they cannot supervise formally so parents are requested to bring their children to school as close to the official start time as possible. The Board of Management and Staff acknowledge the ongoing parental support with this and the car park, as we work to protect the safety of every child in the school.
Hurling and Camogie
Hurling and Camogie training will take place on Mondays during school hours.
On Friday January 19th, the Indoor Hurling campaign began with the boys from 3rd and 4th class. Here’s what the boys said about their trip to Cratloe :-
First we got on the bus and went to the hall in Cratloe. Kilmurry watched the first game (Cratloe v Sixmilebridge). We played against Kilkishen in second game and we drew 3-3. We played Cratloe and Sixmileridge in the next games but we lost both. After the matches we went back to dressing room and got changed. We went back to school on the bus.
