Dear Parents,

Grandparents Day
Grandparents Day will be celebrated on Wednesday January 30th. Fr. Harry will lead a Prayer Service in which the pupils of Junior and Senior Infants will celebrate the kindness of their parents and grandparents. The short ceremony in the infant classroom will commence at 1pm. The grandparents and/or the parents of the pupils in Junior and Senior Infants are welcome to attend.

The Soccer league at our school is a fun, easy way to get students moving! Four matches have been played so far. There are 51 pupils playing. A goal scored by a girl is worth 2 goals! The teams are Barcelona, Real Madrid, Dundalk FC, Man City, PSG, Bayern Munich and Juventus. Let’s see who will be our Champions !!!

Active School 2019
Pupils from 3rd to 6th class have commenced swimming lessons and will continue every Monday until 11th February.
Pupils will participate in the 10@10 initiative again this year. Parents can access the workout online on the RTEplayer and join in at home!

School Opening Times
Classes commence at 8.50a.m. each day. As staff may be involved in organisation and preparation for the day ahead, they cannot supervise formally so parents are requested to bring their children to school as close to the official start time of 8.50am as possible. No formal responsibility can be accepted for pupils arriving before 8.30am.

In the interest of the safety and protection of your child you are requested not to drop off your child/children at the school before 8.30am.

The Board of Management and Staff acknowledge your ongoing support as we work to protect the safety of every child in the school.

School Self Evaluation
This year we are looking closely at the teaching and learning of music in Kilmurry N.S. This is part of the school’s self-evaluation and follows on from previous work that focused on maths (problems solving) and literacy (comprehension). To help us in that evaluation, we will be asking parents to fill out a short questionnaire. We will be sending the questionnaire to each family over the next few weeks.

Christmas Carol Celebration 2018
On December 21st, all pupils took part in celebrating the story of Christmas in St. Mary’s Church, Kilmurry. Pupils acted, played music and sang. They performed really well. Thanks to the P.A. for providing refreshments afterward and to Santa for his visit to all classrooms.
