On Saturday the 1st October we played a hurling tournament in Ard Scoil Rís. In our group was Adare and Ballybrown. We departed from the school at 10 o’clock. We arrived at half 10. We got togged out. Then we ran onto the field to warm up. The captain was Conor. It was nip and tuck for awhile but then Ballybrown broke away. Luckily we got a penalty and Dara blasted it into the back of the net. The goalie pucked it out and Dara Fitz caught it and threw it over the bar which made the game all square. The ref blew for full time and a draw was enough.
After that we played Adare and drew with them as well. A draw was enough for us to go through to the semi-final. Next we played Cratloe. At half time we were losing by 3 points. But in the second half we came out 10 times stronger. We made up a tactic at half time that Gary played it down to Conor and he would jostle his man out of the way and Gavin would run behind his man and score a goal. In the end Gavin scored three goals and we won by 8 points. We moved onto the final and sadly lost. We got lovely medals. We had a great day. By Gavin and Conor
