Swimming Champion

On Sunday the 7th of February, 2016 I represented Kilmurry National School at the Irish Schools Swimming Finals in the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin. There was 719 competitors taking part over different age groups and events.

I swam in 2 events which were the 50m Freestlye and the 50m Butterfly. All heats were timed with the fastest 10 swimmers getting through to the final. I got through to both my event finals and won a medal in the Butterfly race. I also got PB’s in both my events which I was delighted with.

The medal ceremony was at the end of the day where we were called up onto the podium and Kilmurry National School was announced. I felt very proud accepting the medal and hope to represent the school again next year.

Congratulations to Oisín from all in Kilmurry. A marvellous achievement.
